Microsoft Copilot

Overview

5 videos. 13 days. Dozens of stakeholders. This project was a test of speed and precision, balancing UI design, story building, and creative direction. Doable? Certainly. A tier-1 result? Delivered.

Goals

Produce 5 High-Stakes Videos: Deliver a complete series of five promotional videos for the global Microsoft Ignite 2025 event.

  • Showcase 5 Key Partners: Seamlessly integrate and tell compelling stories for five major partners: ADP, ROX, LSEG, Blue Yonder, and Sophos.

  • Tell a Story, Not a Slideshow: The primary strategic goal was to move beyond a simple "slide presentation." The videos had to tell a natural, human-centric story that clearly demonstrated the real-world value of AI.

  • Unify Multiple Brands: Combine and harmonize existing brand UI elements from all six companies (Microsoft + 5 partners) into a single, polished, and professional animated series.

My Role + Responsibilities

I was the connective tissue for the creative team. I oversaw the flow of the story, acting as the "glue" between the script and the final visuals. I was responsible for adjusting and editing UI, developing a cohesive story across all five videos, and maintaining constant communication with the animators to ensure every asset I transferred was accessible and ready for animation.

Problem

Problem

Problem

The challenge was immense: Microsoft Ignite 2025, one of the world's largest tech conferences, was just 13 days away.

We were tasked with producing five high-stakes promotional videos showcasing complex AI integrations (featuring partners like ADP, ROX, LSEG, Blue Yonder, and Sophos) within the Microsoft ecosystem.

This wasn't a request for a simple slide deck. The goal was to weave compelling, human-centric stories that demonstrated the real-world value of AI in the workplace. We had to do this while navigating dozens of stakeholders on an incredibly tight deadline.

Research

With no time to spare, efficiency was everything. My first 48 hours were an aggressive sprint of research, data gathering, and strategic planning.

  • Stakeholder Alignment: I immediately worked to define the core narrative and desired outcome with the client. What was the single most important message each video needed to communicate?

  • Rapid UI & Brand Audit: I collected all existing brand UI elements from Microsoft and the five integration partners. I then rapidly identified the "core" visual components that would form the basis of our animations, ensuring 100% brand compliance.

  • Ruthless Prioritization: Given the time constraint, I ruthlessly prioritized tasks. This wasn't about boiling the ocean; it was about identifying the key visual scenarios that would tell the most impactful story for each of the five integrations.

Development

This phase was all about execution and rapid iteration. My role was to act as the central "glue" between the scriptwriter, the UI design, and the animation team.

  • Story-Driven Storyboards: I developed detailed storyboards that went beyond simple visual layouts. They became our single source of truth, containing explicit animator notes, stakeholder feedback, and clear requests for changes.

  • Taming Stakeholder Feedback: With dozens of stakeholders, feedback could have easily derailed the entire project. We implemented a system using Frame.io to capture time-stamped, in-context comments.

  • Actionable Assets for Animation: My responsibility was to ensure this feedback loop was airtight. I personally translated all comments into actionable changes on the master storyboard files. I used clear visual language (like highlighting critical notes in red) to ensure the animation team knew exactly what to focus on. This systematic approach prevented miscommunication and saved priceless revision time.

The outcome was a testament to a small, focused team operating with a bulletproof process.

  • On Time, On Target: We successfully delivered all five high-impact promotional videos in just 13 days. They debuted on schedule at Microsoft Ignite 2025.

  • Stakeholder Acclaim: The streamlined feedback process was a massive success. The final product was universally approved with minimal friction, proving that complex projects with many stakeholders can be managed efficiently.

  • A Story, Not a Slideshow: The final videos successfully transcended a typical "product demo." They told compelling, integrated stories about AI in the workplace, receiving high praise for their narrative clarity and visual polish.
